Lisbon - Coaches and a Pink Street

The day John took Pedro to the airport, later we took the ferry from Seixal on the south side of the Tegus River to Lisbon - just a 20 minute or so ferry ride.  John had always wanted to go to the National Coach Museum but no one had ever expressed interest.  However, I was up for it so we took the tram toward Belum Tower and got off the stop for the museum.  I have to say, it was very unexpected that there were at least 30 or 40 coaches dating from the 17th to 20th century.  I won't bore you with the details of all these coaches but here are some of the photos I took. I have to day, it was more impressive than I thought it would be and I haven't had time to attach the history behind all of these carriages.  Next door to this museum is the Quake Museum which is about the earthquake which hit Lisbon in 1755.

Later, we had lunch on Pink Street, one of the new trendy places to see in Lisbon and to people-watch.  After that, we headed back on the ferry and got ready for our three-day road trip that was to start on Saturday.  However, there was yet one more dinner party to go!  Gosh, the time is flying by.  I will be home in less than a week now.  So not ready!!
